About Us
Made for quiet moments and open skies.
Wild Meadows was created by two best friends and cousins, Taylor and Olivia, on the 6th generation family homestead near Kingman, Alberta. Inspired by years spent working in the mountains; they built a rustic, off-grid glamping experience. It is designed for slowing down, unplugging, and reconnecting. With cozy canvas tents, wide open fields and beautiful skies, Wild Meadows offers a peaceful escape close to home.

Our Story
Meet Olivia
Olivia grew up on an acreage just south of Sherwood Park with her mom, dad, and two younger sisters. She spent much of her childhood out at the family farm helping in any way she could. However, once hunting season came along Olivia and her father, would be found either in a local field sitting and enjoying each other’s company or in her father's home province of Saskatchewan assisting their family in local bird or big game hunts. Once older, Olivia would also spend her school summers working as a wrangler for Wild Deuce. Growing up surrounded by nature and many animals instilled a deep sense of respect for the natural world around her and has shaped her into the woman she is today.
Now, Olivia works as a hairdresser in Edmonton at the Hair House YEG. She has been at that salon since September 2021 and absolutely loves the clients she has and the at-home feel you get from just walking in the doors. During the summer months you will most likely find Olivia at various rodeos in Alberta and Saskatchewan competing in Woman's Ranch Bronc Riding. What started as a yearly tradition of going to the Canadian Finals Rodeo turned into a fascination with the roughstock side of the arena. In January 2023, with the encouragement of a good friend, Olivia entered one of Canada’s first Women's Ranch Bronc School’s and quickly became hooked with the thrill of getting on bucking horses.
Throughout Olivia’s adult life, with hairdressing and rodeo, she has come to love meeting all kinds of new people and connecting with them in individual and unique ways. It has created a passion in making people feel confident about themselves, even if that means sometimes stepping outside of their comfort zone. It is these and many other qualities that she is excited to bring into hosting many trips for Wild Meadows.

Meet Taylor
Growing up as the daughter of an outfitter, Taylor was raised in the heart of the mountains. From a young age, she spent her summers west of Rocky Mountain house with Wild Deuce Retreats and Outfitting. By the time she was 14, Taylor had become head wrangler, leading pack strings, caring for horses, driving a team and wagon, and learning what it meant to create meaningful experiences.
Winter brought a new adventure. Traveling to Arizona , where Taylor and her parents hauled a trailer full of horses, dogs, and even a cat to explore a whole new landscape on horseback. Her mother, Terri, always sought to live life differently, which meant Taylor was homeschooled and born right on the family’s sixth-generation farm.
That upbringing gave her more than just skills for life, it sparked a love for storytelling, people, and capturing the beauty of both nature and connection. Taylor carried that spirit into her photography business, where she specializes in documenting authentic moments and creating spaces for people to relax, laugh, and be themselves.
Today, Taylor lives in her grandparents' 120+ year old farmhouse. After some renovations, it’s become her own cozy home, full of history and heart. Alongside photography, she handcrafts natural tallow-based skincare products, a reflection of her lifelong passion for plants, healing, and living simply.
Now, Taylor is bringing all of these passions together, along with Olivia to start their own glamping business. Inspired by their Wild Deuce roots.

Why This Land?

Why This Land?
This land has been in our family since 1907, when Oscar Thompson first purchased the homestead. The original home is still here today, the big white house on the hill that you’ll see when you arrive.
Early life here was closely tied to the land and water. The natural pond below the farm was once dammed to help with both access and winter ice harvesting, which was brought up by a team of horses in the colder months.
Over time, the land evolved with the needs of each generation through farming, building, and rebuilding.
Olivia and Taylor are the sixth generation connected to this land, and the history that lives here.
Their Beginning
Olivia & Taylor are not just best friends, but cousins and god sisters first. Any chance they got, they were spending their time together on the family farm, running wild with the animals and making up their own fun. Both of their mothers grew up on this land, and it’s always been a special place to them.
As they got older, Olivia began joining Taylor and her family in the mountains, which only deepened their bond and quietly planted the seed for what would become Wild Meadows.
Growing up, they were attached at the hip, if you knew one, you likely knew of the other. They talked about each other to everyone and have always just made sense as a pair. Their friendship has only grown over the years, and even though they don’t see each other as often as when they were kids, they still make time every year to head back to the mountains and enjoy a place that means so much to them.
